Service Twelve

In the beginning, around the early 1960's, the original developers in Ocean Shores, Washington wanted to set aside an area for people to use tents, travel trailers, etc. without a permit limiting time or other restrictions. Division 12 was set aside for this purpose and Service Twelve Inc. began August 31, 1966 to protect this area for this purpose. No other division in Ocean Shores will allow this type of recreation without a permit limiting time and other restrictions.

Service Twelve Inc. is a non-profit incorporation began August 31, 1966, filed under Chapter 24.04 of the revised code of Washington. (click links to view documents) The Articles of Incorporation and the By-Laws are filed with the State of Washington and an official copy can be purchased at the "Department of State: in Olympia, Washington, On March 7, 2008 a Claim of Equitable Servitude was filed with the County of Grays Harbor on behalf of Service Twelve Inc a Home Owners Maintenance Association.  A copy of the historical restrictive-covenants and easements appearing on the face of the plat of Division 12 in Ocean Shores, can be obtained at the permit office of the City of Ocean Shores. The City of Ocean Shores Division 12 is currently zoned R-6A Recreational Vehicle and trailer and R-6B Mobile and Manufactured Home. Click here for description of R-6A zoning.
